The "localization" of agricultural machinery in Zhao Guoyu's words is a cultivator and cultivator developed by local agricultural machinery "soil expert" Mao Cai under the guidance of innovative concepts this year, which has been praised by tobacco farmers after use.
- In fact, since 2023, the Tobacco Monopoly Bureau (Branch) of Mianchi County has taken the opportunity to build a demonstration county for the integration of agricultural machinery and agronomy. Through the "introduction, research, and renovation" approach, 247 new sets of machinery have been added, significantly improving the mechanized production capacity of tobacco areas. As an intercropping and soil plowing machine, it has been widely applied to thousands of farmers, achieving a transformation from manual labor to mechanical cultivation.
- However, in the specific production process, the working effect of the Zhonggeng soil plow has not yet achieved a perfect integration with agronomic standards. It is advisable to find the "optimal solution" by tackling each link one by one.
Gu Qinghui, Deputy Manager of Tobacco in charge of Mianchi County Tobacco Monopoly Bureau (Branch), said, "Prior to this, we also held on-site meetings on agricultural machinery and invited agricultural machinery manufacturers to demonstrate on site. However, most of the cultivators produced by agricultural machinery manufacturers have similar functions to 'Little White Dragon'. Therefore, we have the idea of seeking breakthroughs from the 'point'."
Under the impetus of this "idea", Mianchi County Tobacco Monopoly Bureau (Branch) established a work team to strengthen communication with hair talents, design plans, draw drawings, and then "follow the diagram" to turn "drawing" into "physical".
"While developing and practicing, especially in solving the problem of soil rotation and soil cultivation technology, repeated experiments and corrections were carried out to meet the requirements of high soil cultivation and the need for new soil to approach the roots of tobacco plants. Finally, the research and development of agricultural machinery operation results were matched with agronomic technology," said Mao proudly in the demonstration field.
Mao Facai introduced that the agricultural machinery he developed has high horsepower and sufficient power. It is also equipped with a hydraulic control system, which integrates weeding, intercropping, and soil cultivation. It can produce both single and multiple crops, with double sets of spiral teeth, and can complete the cultivation of two ridges and ditches at once.
Only by knowing one's shortcomings can one move forward, which is beyond the reach of ordinary people. Faced with the reality of multiple tobacco production points, long lines, and wide coverage, Mianchi County Tobacco Monopoly Bureau (Branch) insists on prioritizing "links" and ensuring "full process" excellence, concentrating efforts to overcome difficulties and bottlenecks, connecting "points" into lines, and continuously improving the "gold content" of comprehensive mechanization of tobacco agriculture from line to surface.
In the demonstration field, the summer breeze brushes against the face, and the tobacco leaves grow beautifully. Zhao Guoyu has a record of the benefits that new agricultural machinery brings to tobacco farmers: this year, it only takes one and a half days to cultivate the soil, and the cost is 800 yuan; Last year, it was still this piece of land. Three "Little White Dragons" took 6 days to cultivate, and the cost was 1800 yuan. This year, they saved 1000 yuan in light cultivation.
"New agricultural machinery not only saves labor and money, but also has high soil quality. The new soil dug up directly reaches the roots of tobacco plants, promoting the growth and development of adventitious roots, and improving the yield and quality of tobacco leaves," said Zhao Guoyu.
