The construction machinery industry operated smoothly in the first half of the year and the transformation accelerated

China Central Television Network News (News Broadcast): The reporter (August 23) learned from the China Construction Machinery Industry Association that in the first half of this year, my country's construction machinery industry maintained an overall stable development trend. The cumulative sales of the twelve major categories of products at home and abroad reached 968,900 units, a year-on-year increase of 4.58%. The import and export trade volume was US$27.134 billion, a year-on-year increase of 3.13%.

The industry's transformation toward high-end, intelligent, and green industries continues to accelerate. Electric construction machinery, represented by electric loaders, lifting work platforms, etc., has grown significantly. A number of large-scale and intelligent engineering machinery products are continuously put on the market, playing an important role in major engineering projects and infrastructure construction.

According to the caliber of the China Machinery Industry Federation, the machinery industry involves 10 major industries and 52 medium industries in the national economy. The machinery industry accounts for about 22% of the national industry, about 25% of the manufacturing industry, and about two-thirds of the equipment manufacturing industry.

At the meeting, Zhang Chaohua, director and secretary-general of CNAS, reported on the progress of CNAS related work in 2024. He said that the machinery industry is an important cornerstone force of my country's new quality productivity and has broad development prospects under the new historical opportunities. CNAS will work together with the Machinery Industry Federation to continuously strengthen accreditation support through measures such as optimizing accreditation processes, improving accreditation quality, and promoting smart accreditation, so as to escort the high-quality development of the industry.

Luo Junjie, executive vice president of the China Machinery Industry Federation, said that the machinery industry is a basic and strategic industry for the development of the national economy, an important guarantee for the industrial upgrading and technological progress of various industries, and has broad development space.

Reviewing the operation of the machinery industry in 2024, Luo Junjie said that there are three characteristics: first, the production end has effectively recovered and product production has been stable and improved; second, foreign trade has been stable and improved; third, fixed asset investment has slowed down from a high level.

In analyzing the industry outlook for 2025, Luo Junjie said that positive factors in the domestic market continue to accumulate, and the "two new" policy effects of the "Action Plan for Promoting Large-Scale Equipment Renewal and Consumer Goods Replacement" and "Several Measures on Strengthening Support for Large-Scale Equipment Renewal and Consumer Goods Replacement" continue to show, which will improve the demand market for machinery products. With the implementation of the policy, the policy effect has been shown in the machinery industry.

At the meeting, Liu Changzhou, deputy secretary-general of CNAS, analyzed the situation and challenges facing the development of the industry, put forward work suggestions for the construction of the special committee, and made work arrangements around improving the credibility of accreditation, specialization and international mutual recognition.
